How fees work
Plain answers before you book, in the order people ask them.
Insurance we work with
Facial and cosmetic visits are usually not covered by health plans, so most people pay themselves. We are out of network and do not bill plans directly. Plans differ, so ask yours.

If you pay yourself
You pay at the visit by card. The fee depends on who you see and for how long, and we tell you before you book. Many health savings and flexible spending cards work for acupuncture: ask your plan administrator before you book. If a fee is a stretch, tell us, because we keep a few reduced-fee visits each month.
Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit we give you an itemized receipt, called a superbill, and your plan may reimburse some of what you paid; the plan decides. Before you send it, ask your plan:
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it allow?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, we give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your visit. If your bill comes to $400 or more above that estimate, you can dispute it. Ask for the estimate when you book.
Checking your benefits
Because we are out of network, we cannot check your benefits for you. Call your plan before your first visit and ask the four questions above, then tell us what you learn and we will help with the receipt.
What the first visit includes
About 75 minutes: a talk, a treatment and a plan for what comes next. Later visits are about an hour. The fee for your first visit is on your written estimate before you come.
