Facial acupuncture and gua sha in Summerville, South Carolina

Facial acupuncture and gua sha, explained plainly

A licensed acupuncturist and a licensed esthetician in downtown Summerville, a short drive from Charleston. Come curious: before anything begins, we tell you what a session is, and what it is not.

What facial acupuncture is, and what it is not

It is acupuncture with extra attention to the face, neck and hands. Here is the plain version, so you can decide for yourself.

It is not a facelift, a filler or a skin treatment, and it is not a replacement for a dermatologist's care. We make no promises about how your skin will look or feel afterward, and results vary from person to person.

What it is

  • Fine, single-use needles at points on your face, neck, hands and feet

  • A talk first about your routine, your sleep and what you hope for

  • About an hour lying down, with a blanket if you like

  • A plan for later visits that you are free to change or decline

What happens in the hour

A conversation, a treatment and a plan

Nothing begins until you have heard what we plan and said yes.

  • 01

    A conversation first

We ask about your skin routine, your sleep and what you are hoping for, and we tell you what we plan before we begin.

  • 02

    The treatment

Fine needles at a few points on the face, neck, hands and feet, with gentle gua sha or facial massage if you want it. You can pause or stop at any time.

  • 03

    A plan you can change

We suggest a rhythm of visits, never a package you must buy. You decide after the first visit whether to come back.

Treatments

Treatments, in plain words

Two people see you, each for what they are licensed to do.

With our acupuncturist

  • Facial acupuncture, with fine needles at points on the face, neck, hands and feet
  • Acupuncture for the body, in the same visit if you would like it

With our esthetician

  • Gua sha facial, a smooth stone drawn lightly across oiled skin
  • Facial massage, slow and unhurried
  • A skin talk about what you use now, with no products to buy

Every treatment is described in full, with what to tell us first and what it does not do, on its own page.
